Purpose of the project
The aim of the project is to improve employment opportunities for Roma in Latvia and Finland by providing training in life skills and labour market skills, thereby supporting the target group’s inclusion in the labour market following a period of long-term unemployment.
Planned project results
- Training programs in life skills and work skills have been developed and implemented for members of the Roma community. At least 30 participants from the Roma community in Finland and Latvia have taken part in the training.
- After completing the training, project participants will additionally undergo up to 3 months of internship in companies in Finland and Latvia.
- As a result of the project activities, at least 21 members of the Roma community from Finland and Latvia will receive a certificate confirming the completion of the training program and internship.
Main activities of the project
- Awareness-raising events will be organised to encourage members of Roma communities to participate in the training;
- Training programmes will be developed and implemented for Roma community members in the fields of life skills and work skills. At least 30 participants from Finland and Latvia will take part in the training;
- After completing the training programme, project participants will be offered internships lasting up to 3 months in companies in Finland and Latvia, where they will have the opportunity to apply the acquired skills in a real work environment;
- As a result of the project activities, at least 21 Roma community members from Finland and Latvia will receive a certificate of completed training and internship.
