The Business Academy is a is a comprehensive business training programme.

Inspiration & Challenge

In Estonia and Åland, many young people have big ideas but face barriers: lack of practical skills, limited access to mentors, difficulty navigating business start-ups, or uncertainty about how to turn passion into livelihood. Traditional learning rarely offers all these elements together.

Vision & Core Goal

The Business Academy seeks to empower young entrepreneurs not just to dream, but to build. Our goal is to equip participants with tools, confidence and networks so they can launch sustainable, meaningful businesses that contribute positively to their communities.

What We Do Differently

We combine hands-on workshops with real business assignments, mentoring by experienced entrepreneurs, and cross-border learning between Estonia and Åland. Instead of just theory, participants will work on their own ideas, receive feedback, visit peer companies, and learn through action. We tailor training to local needs, ensuring it is relevant to the realities of both regions.

Expected Outcomes & Reach

  • We will support approximately 40 young people from Estonia and Åland; at least 30 are expected to complete the full programme.
  • Participants will gain concrete skills in strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and leadership.
  • Many will establish viable business plans; some may launch new ventures.
  • Beyond individuals, we aim to inspire local ecosystems—educators, mentors, and institutions—to support youth entrepreneurship more strongly.

Sustainability & Legacy

This is not a one-off initiative. After the project ends, our method, materials and network will remain available to others in the Central Baltic region. We aim for durable change: stronger support systems for young entrepreneurs, more role models, and growing trust that entrepreneurship is a real path, not just a fallback.

The Business Academy is a joint effort between the Estonian Franchise Association and the Åland Chamber of Commerce. Together, we bring experience, resources, and regional perspective to ensure the programme is impactful and relevant. We commit to quality, inclusivity, and a future where youth entrepreneurship thrives.
