The Baltic Sea hides countless heritage sites – shipwrecks, harbours, submerged settlements, and historical relics that tell the story of our shared heritage. Preserving them helps to keep alive the connection between our past and future generations
For this purpose, an international cooperation project UCL-Baltic has been established under the Interreg Central Baltic Programme. Our aim is to develop a methodology that will help identify, protect, preserve, and sustainably use underwater cultural landscapes across national borders.
Together with our partners, we are creating a strong foundation for heritage specialists and public authorities to collaborate more closely. This will foster a more unified and effective approach, ensuring that the values hidden in the depths of the Baltic Sea will remain safeguarded for the future.
