Vision Start is a cross-border initiative designed to empower blind and visually impaired individuals in Estonia, Latvia, and Finland to become successful entrepreneurs. Rather than chasing abstract or high-risk startup trends, Vision Start focuses on helping participants develop tangible, realistic business ideas—such as selling handmade products or digital creations through existing online marketplaces, offering creative services, or monetizing original content. Blind people often face the prejudice in society that they are not capable of engaging in entrepreneurship.
Nevertheless, there are numerous examples of talented visually impaired individuals who sell their music, handicrafts, or services online, provide accessibility-related consultations, or act as mentors for others.
The project is firmly focused on measurable impact: 36 participants will complete the programme.
Through accessible training, coaching, and cross-border collaboration, participants will develop both the entrepreneurial mindset and practical know-how to turn their ideas into action. The project enhances their overall employability and readiness to engage in the labour market.
