The CulDif project, aimed at supporting young aspiring entrepreneurs with foreign backgrounds in Finland (and Estonia), has successfully attracted a high level of interest, particularly in the Satakunta region. Recruitment efforts launched in early August saw a total of 52 direct applications, with several more individuals reaching out to the project coordinator at SAMK (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences) for further details.
Promotional materials, including flyers and online advertisements, were distributed via social media, local NGOs, and public spaces in Pori. The recruitment efforts extended beyond Pori, reaching other areas in Satakunta and even drawing attention from neighboring regions in Finland.
Applicants were shortlisted based on their location, age, and commitment to the project, which was assessed through interviews focusing on their motivation and entrepreneurial aspirations. The process was designed to ensure equal opportunities for all, with no biases.
The overwhelming interest highlights the relevance of the CulDif project among young immigrants and individuals with foreign backgrounds. Many of the applicants demonstrated promising ideas and enthusiasm, reflecting their potential to contribute to Finland’s economic development as future entrepreneurs. The success of this recruitment phase marks an important step forward for the project’s goals.
