BreedExpo2- Export of breeding materials, know-how and

animals to new markets

Agricultural sector, incl. animal husbandry, has to find better opportunities for selling high-quality and high-value products because of strong competition and volatile market prices of traditional products. Estonia, Latvia and Finland have good position in exporting of breeding materials and know-how outside EU, as Central-Baltic area has a leading role in animal breeding and reproduction. This is determined by its highly scientific and technological breeding industry. Project enables to move forward from the export of live animals to the next level in breeding industrie’s value chain.

Our goal

The main objective of BreedExpo2 is to support animal breeding and reproduction industry from CB area to enter into new markets- Uzbekistan, Turkey and Azerbaijan. Main products are breeding materials (semen, embryos), know-how in artificial insemination (AI) technology and related accessories/equipment. It is expected that 6 companies from the industry achieve directly real sales in these markets and ca 50 farmers participate in the export of breeding animals in entrance phase. During the project practical cooperation model of breeding industries in three countries will be developed and implemented.

What we do

Project work plan includes composing market analysis and strategy, organizing B2B meetings and contact visits to target markets, participation in agricultural exhibitions, organizing roadshows and training courses in AI-technology for the potential clients and veterinary specialists. The practical seminars and exchange of experience visits are planned for SME’s from Estonia, Finland and Latvia from breeding and animal reproduction industries for improvement of their capacity required for successful export.
