CHAMP was created to improve the quality and long-term sustainability of anonymous chat support for young people in
Finland and Sweden. Many young people seek help online when they are struggling with their mental health, but the quality,
methods and evaluation of chat-based support vary between organisations. There is a need for shared tools, clearer methods and better ways to measure impact.
The project aims to strengthen both professionals and volunteers working in youth chat services. By developing a pedagogical framework, a practical handbook and evaluation tools, CHAMP will help ensure that young people receive safe, high-quality and effective support. The project also explores how AI solutions can complement human chat supporters in a responsible and ethical way.
During the project, the partners collaborate across borders to gather knowledge, organise seminars and workshops, and test new tools in practice. The results will be integrated into the partners’ regular operations and shared with relevant stakeholders to create lasting impact beyond the project period.
