What if it were possible to easily connect healthcare students, higher education
institutions, and community members quickly and effortlessly?
In close collaboration with our partner, we aim to develop a digital solution that connects higher education institutions, students, academic staff, and community members within a single, cohesive ecosystem. Our goal is to bring health education closer to people by enabling students to gain hands-on practical experience, while community members simultaneously benefit from accessible services and new health-related knowledge.
Together with our partner we are experts in community-based healthcare services and have been delivering them for a long time. However, we have identified a clear challenge: there is a lack of digital tools that effectively connect healthcare students and community members. This gap has become increasingly evident as the demand for accessible community health services grows.
Without a dedicated digital solution, meaningful interactions between healthcare students and the community remain fragmented and difficult to coordinate at scale.
What are we doing to create a solution?
- We are mapping needs and opportunities in both Estonia and Latvia, with a specific focus on providing community services that increase health awareness, as well as creating opportunities for students to gain practical experience in community settings.
- Based on the insights gathered in the previous step, we are developing a shared digital platform that connects community members and students.
- We are testing the digital platform and implementing improvements that support both community members and higher education institutions. Our goal is to develop a platform that genuinely helps solve the problem.
- The tested digital platform will be launched and introduced to community members. It enables community members to register easily and quickly for community health services. At the same time, students are given the opportunity to contribute to improving health awareness within the community.
- … and, of course, we carry out all of this in close collaboration with our partner, sharing best practices across borders
By the end of the project, a joint cross-border digital web application will be developed through collaborative efforts. As a result, community health services will become more accessible to the public, leading to increased health awareness. At the same time, students will have greater opportunities to contribute to the community and gain practical experience.
