Silver Strategies is a project committed to addressing the challenges and harnessing the opportunities of an ageing workforce. Our project focuses on empowering both employers and employees to adapt to the changing demographics of the job market.

Our mission

Our mission is to create a more inclusive and adaptable work environment where age is not a barrier but an asset. We aim to shift perceptions about ageing in the workplace and promote strategies that value experience and diversity.

Our approach

We employ a multifaceted approach that includes research, stakeholder engagement, and practical interventions. By combining data-driven insights with real-world applications, we seek to foster a deeper understanding of the dynamics of an ageing workforce and develop sustainable solutions.

  • To provide tools and strategies for organizations to effectively manage and benefit from a diverse age range of employees.
  • To promote policy dialogue and change that supports age-inclusivity in the workplace.

Our project team comprises of three partners with a unique perspective to the project, united by a commitment to fostering age-inclusive workplaces. Project partners cover a wide range of expertise in human resources, labour market and policy-making,

Outcome

As the Silver Strategies project progresses, we believe in achieving results that will have a meaningful impact on workplaces and employees across Latvia, Estonia, and Finland:

Development of joint strategies: Collaborative strategies will be defined and refined for businesses, focusing on the effective recruitment and retention of silver age employees.

Implementation of antidiscrimination measures: It is projected that sets of antidiscrimination measures will be agreed upon and implemented in 36 companies, promoting a work environment that values inclusivity and diversity.

Design and execution of a comprehensive training program: A specialized training program is planned to be developed for company managers, HR managers, coaches, and consultants. This program will concentrate on imparting knowledge and skills related to anti-discrimination strategies and measures.

Facilitation of training events and expertise sharing: Joint training events and expertise-sharing mobilities are intended to be facilitated, aimed at enhancing the professional capabilities of those managing age diversity in the workplace.

Publication of an online handbook: The development and publication of an online Handbook are anticipated. This resource will serve as a valuable guide for organizations seeking to embrace and derive benefits from an age-diverse workforce.
