The construction sector in the Central Baltic region faces an urgent challenge with an ageing workforce. Older professionals possess valuable experience but often lack modern skills in sustainable building and heritage renovation. Without targeted support, these experienced workers risk unemployment while the industry loses traditional knowledge.
Partners from Estonia, Latvia, and Sweden will provide tailored trainings in eco-friendly construction and traditional crafts. This project strengthens the employability of older workers and supports the region’s transition to a greener economy.
The project will train professionals and career changers aged 50+ in sustainable building and energy-efficient renovation methods. This training directly improves the target audience’s competitiveness and employability within the regional construction sector.
Across the Central Baltic region, the project will decrease labour shortages caused by demographic shifts and green skill gaps. It will accelerate the industry’s transition toward a low-carbon, circular economy, especially within heritage building renovation.
Finally, it will support an ageing workforce to stay employed longer while promoting socially responsible practices toward older employees.
