About project

ongoing

WoDiLab (Women’s Digital Course Creation Lab) is a cross-border initiative supporting women aged 40 and above, up to retirement age, in Latvia (mainly the Latgale region) and Estonia (mainly Tartu and South Estonia) to transform their knowledge, skills, and passions into impactful online courses.

The project was created in response to a real and measurable challenge.

Women over 40 often face particular barriers in the labour market. In Latvia and Estonia, the gender pay gap remains significantly above the EU average. In Latgale, unemployment rates are especially high. Many women experience career breaks due to caregiving responsibilities, struggle with outdated qualifications, or face limited employment opportunities in smaller regional economies.

This combination often leads to economic insecurity at a stage of life when financial stability becomes increasingly important.

At the same time, these women possess something incredibly valuable: decades of professional expertise, practical skills, lived experience, and personal passions. Knowledge that others would gladly learn from. Experience that can solve real problems. Skills that deserve a wider audience.

WoDiLab was created to bridge this gap, turning existing knowledge into new economic opportunity.

The global online learning market is growing rapidly and is expected to reach 1 trillion dollars by 2032. In Europe alone, the demand for flexible online education continues to expand. Digital courses allow people to reach international markets, overcome geographical limitations, and build income streams that are not restricted by local job availability.

WoDiLab helps women access this opportunity.

Over 16 weeks, participants move step by step from idea to launch. They learn how to define a focused course topic, structure their knowledge into clear outcomes, test their idea in the market, and launch a minimum viable version of their online course. The programme combines practical online learning, structured worksheets, individual and group mentoring, peer support, and milestone tracking.

Gamification elements, such as visible progress tracking, achievement points, and clear milestones, help maintain motivation and engagement throughout the journey.

The goal of the project is clear and measurable:
80 women (40 from Latvia and 40 from Estonia) will be supported in developing their own online courses. At least 64 are expected to successfully complete the programme, and at least 32 will launch their first online course and gain paying customers during or shortly after the programme.

WoDiLab is not only about course creation. It is about increasing economic independence, rebuilding professional confidence, and opening access to international digital markets for women in regions where opportunities may otherwise feel limited.

By supporting women aged 40 and above in Latgale, Tartu, and South Estonia, WoDiLab contributes to stronger regional entrepreneurship and more inclusive participation in the digital economy.
