Enabling scaling through corporate-scaleup commercial collaborations
The main goal of CB SCALE-ABLE project is tackling the underused potential that can be achieved through the cross-border systematic matchmaking & collaboration of corporations and scaling technology companies from Estonia, Finland & Sweden.
Corporations are representing a good opportunity for technology-based scaling companies to enter new markets; establish joint product and service development; establish investment links etc. Project sets up a framework and raises the awareness of corporates and scaleups, pre-validates the companies for perfect match, matchmakes the companies to establish collaboration & supervises the collaborations till success.
Scale-Able addressed a practical challenge in the Central Baltic region: startups, scaleups and large companies in Estonia, Finland and Sweden lacked effective ways to build cross-border business cooperation. This limited innovation, growth and access to new markets.
The project created and tested a structured cross-border collaboration model that connected technology companies, corporates and support organisations. Through tailored matchmaking and follow-up activities, it helped companies find suitable partners and turn first meetings into concrete cooperation.
As a result, more than 132 startups and scaleups engaged with 32 corporates through 273 matchmaking sessions. Around half of these contacts continued into further cooperation, leading to at least 18 concrete success stories, including pilot projects and longer-term collaborations. The project also strengthened cooperation between regional innovation ecosystems and created practical methods that continue to support business growth beyond the project lifetime.
Achieving the results SCALE-ABLE project joins 60+ corporations and 140+ scaling technology companies in trending technology verticals.
The main beneficiaries are scaling small & medium enterprises (SMEs), corporations and business support organisations capable to establish the repeatable system for matchmaking and cross-border collaborations.
The project monitors the business metrics (sales volume and traction, revenue, investment capital) of the companies and results with having the development of 20 – 25 SMEs through commercial collaboration with the corporations.
