Engaging NEET Youth Through Innovative Film and Media Training. NEET youth represent one of the most vulnerable social groups and many young people still face complex barriers—ranging from unemployment and lack of education to poor mental health and social isolation.
The project will result in a group of NEET youth from Estonia and Latvia actively engaged in digital content creation. Participants will transition from passive social media use to producing and publishing their own media content. They will acquire practical skills in filming, editing, colour correction, and publishing.
Recognizing that many NEET youth are introverted and hesitant to share themselves publicly, the training encourages them to express their perspective through visual storytelling rather than self- promotion. Participants will learn to frame their environments, narrate their stories, and build confidence through creation.
By the end of the project, 20 NEET or at-risk youth (10 from each municipality) will have:
– Gained practical skills in video production, editing, and publishing
– Participated in a structured, inspiring creative training programme
– Built confidence in communication, collaboration, and storytelling
– Improved their digital literacy and understanding of media platforms
– Connected with peers, mentors, and potential employers
– Explored pathways to employment or self-employment in the creative sector.
20 NEET or near-NEET youth will be trained and certified (10 from each municipality);
10+ employers involved in mentoring or offering placement opportunities.
The project emphasises labour market relevance, ensuring that digital skill development aligns with employer needs. Participants acquire not only media and communication skills but also job-seeking tools such as CV writing, interview simulations, and digital self-presentation.
