Hello food expert!
The Ce4Re project supports the transition towards a circular economy within the Central Baltic restaurant sector. The restaurant industry plays a significant role in resource consumption and environmental impact due to its reliance on continuous material and food flows and its connection to complex supply chains. Strengthening sustainability in food production and consumption, while reducing and reusing food waste, was a central focus of the initiative.
Purpose and Approach
The project developed practical, low-cost and easy-to-use circular solutions for restaurants. These solutions were designed to help food service businesses improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase awareness of circular economy practices. The work was structured around three core principles:
- Redesign
- Reduce
- Rethink
