This project supports creative professionals to navigate in the job market. The skill-building program develops the participant capacities to manage career in an atypical surrounding through needed soft-skills and by the entrepreneurial possibilities. The project supports a total of 60 participants to engage in skill-building programs in Estonia, Finland and Latvia sparking transnational peer networks and opportunities also outside ones national borders.
The CreativeGPS project has officially come to a close, wrapping up an inspiring journey filled with peer learning, skill-building, and meaningful cross-border collaboration.
Designed for creative professionals navigating the often unpredictable realities of today’s job market, the program brought together more than 60 participants from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland – offering a supportive space to grow and connect.
The training program was created to meet the needs of creatives in their career development and during the 7 week period it included both onsite and online workshops led by industry experts. These learning sessions were launched simultaneously in Tallinn, Helsinki, and Riga, and culminated in an international peer gathering—an intensive bootcamp in Tallinn. Over two full days, participants delved deeper into networking, entrepreneurship, career strategy, and collaborative thinking, working both individually and in groups.
The CreativeGPS program was developed through the contributions of more than 15 experts in capacity building for value-driven careers in the arts, culture and creative sectors. By combining such a wide range of strong insights, the program created an immersive environment that boosted confidence, sparked fresh conversations across creative disciplines, and laid the groundwork for lasting international networks.
In addition to the broad array of resources created for workshops and webinars, the project led to its most enduring outcome: the CreativeGPS Workbook.
Titled “CreativeGPS: Learn to Navigate a Stronger Career,” the workbook features six key chapters: creating an expert brand, boosting job search opportunities, understanding entrepreneurship possibilities, strategic social media use, networking, and cross-collaboration – all tailored to support creatives in their career journeys.
This free-access resource is ready to use and packed with hands-on exercises, expert insights, practical templates, and links to video lectures for deeper learning.
The workbook was first piloted during the training program participants and refined through valuable feedback, including key takeaways, best practices, and insights that resonated with creatives throughout the experience. It now reflects the most impactful tools and strategies, supporting creatives in building more confident and sustainable career paths across disciplines.
Published in four languages—Latvian, Estonian, Finnish, and English—the workbook serves not only creative professionals but also educators, coaches and trainers who work with the next generation of talent in the arts, culture and creative sectors.
Available as both an interactive PDF and a print-ready version, the workbook is designed for flexible use and features illustrations by the Latvian artist Mārtiņš Zutis. Whether used individually or as a tool for group discussion, it encourages reflection, peer exchange, and strategic action. It is available for download in this webspace and at ndpculture.org
As a small-scale project, CreativeGPS lays bases for further transnational collaborations to provide targeted support and new solutions for the benefit of creative professionals in less competitive positions in the job market.
This result is created through the skill-building program and all its activities related to career management skills, entrepreneurial skills and transnational peer-learning conducted in Estonia, Finland and Latvia. As a result in total 60 participants are granted a certificate stating the skills gained at the program.
To fuel further opportunities, at the final phase of the project the project will launch an open-access toolkit, to share the teachings, reflections and best-cases coming out of the program to a wider audience in the target countries and beyond.
