MSA-BI-Portal

MSA-BI-Portal

Businesses in the EU Single Market face increasingly complex product safety and compliance requirements, while relevant information is often scattered, difficult to understand and hard to apply in practice. This creates challenges for SMEs and increases the workload of market surveillance authorities, which often respond to similar questions.

The project will develop a Business Information Portal that brings together key information on non-food product safety and compliance, relevant authorities, training opportunities and practical guidance. The Portal will also include AI-based tools, such as self-assessment and search functions, to help businesses identify and apply relevant requirements more easily.

Available in English, Latvian, Swedish, Finnish and Estonian, the Portal will support SMEs, consumers and public authorities, improve access to reliable information and contribute to safer products in the Single Market.

Expected results

The project is expected to result in a common Business Information Portal that provides SMEs with structured, practical and easy-to-access information on non-food product safety and compliance requirements in the EU Single Market. The Portal will bring together relevant legal requirements, responsible public authorities, training opportunities and practical guidance in one source.

Businesses will be better equipped to understand and fulfil applicable requirements, supported by integrated AI-based tools such as self-assessment and search functions. This will help SMEs improve compliance, reduce uncertainty and strengthen their competitiveness in the Single Market.

Market surveillance authorities are expected to benefit from a reduced number of repeated consultations on similar issues, as businesses will have access to clearer and more user-friendly information. Consumers will benefit indirectly from safer and more compliant products and services.

The Portal will be tested by real users and adapted into English, Latvian, Swedish, Finnish and Estonian, ensuring its relevance and usability across the participating regions.
