The SustainaCycle project will focus on improving circular material use rates in the Central Baltic region by increasing the reuse and recycling of plastic, textile, and electronic waste.
The project will pilot smart collection points and mobile solutions in Estonia, Finland, and Latvia. By connecting waste collectors with recycling companies and raising public awareness, the project will help increase the reuse and recycling of valuable materials. This will reduce waste and support a circular economy across borders.
SustainaCycle will set up innovative demo sites in Estonia, Finland, and Latvia to collect up to 40 000 kg of plastic, textile, and electronic waste each year.
The project aims to recover at least 60% of this waste through recycling and reuse, helping reduce the need for virgin materials. By connecting waste collectors with companies that handle recycling and material recovery, SustainaCycle promotes a more circular economy.
It will also raise awareness in communities to support responsible waste disposal and encourage sustainable habits. These solutions can be scaled and shared across the Central Baltic region and beyond to improve waste management.
