My Sea-Prepare and Act

The project “My Sea – Prepare and Act” was created to improve preparedness for maritime crisis situations in the Gulf of Finland area. Increasing risks related to maritime safety, communication failures, evacuation needs and mass rescue situations require closer cooperation between voluntary rescue organizations in Estonia and Finland. The project will develop a common cross-border response model and practical operating guidelines for different maritime crisis scenarios. Through joint training activities, pilot exercises and educational materials, the project will strengthen the readiness of voluntary maritime rescue units, local communities and boat owners to respond more effectively in emergency situations.

Expected results

The project will create a practical and coordinated cooperation model for voluntary maritime rescue organizations in Estonia and Finland. Common guidelines, pilot trainings, educational videos and information materials will help improve preparedness for maritime emergencies, including rescue operations, communication disruptions and evacuations. The project will strengthen cross-border cooperation, clarify operational roles and improve the ability of voluntary rescue units to react quickly and efficiently in crisis situations. In the long term, the project will increase safety awareness and preparedness among coastal communities, boat owners and local authorities across the Gulf of Finland region.
