Many experienced knowledge workers in support functions—HR, administration, finance, and assisting positions—are facing the risk of job displacement due to rapid artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. These professionals play key roles within organisations but often lack essential AI skills to ensure future job security.
The FinEstAI project addresses this skills gap by equipping women aged 50 and above in support roles across Finland and Estonia with crucial AI skills, enhancing their employability and job stability. The programme combines technical training with collaboration and networking among businesses, universities, and professional associations, helping participants see their roles in a new, innovative light. By building confidence in their ability to acquire and apply new skills, the project empowers them to adapt, remain employable, and continue contributing meaningfully to their organisations.
The FinEstAI project will develop and deliver a cross-border training programme for Finnish and Estonian professionals in support functions to confidently use various AI tools, adapt to technological changes, and integrate these capabilities into their everyday work. Upon completion of the training programme, participants will earn a certificate, issued by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and Estonian Business School, enhancing their qualifications on the evolving labour market.
Through a cross-border professional network, the project will facilitate collaboration, peer-to-peer learning, and connections to businesses that can open new career paths. This will help support workers gain the skills and confidence needed to secure their positions or find new opportunities.
