Ancient & Innovative

Visually impaired and blind individuals in Estonia and Latvia often lack the digital competencies required to engage fully in today’s society and job market. As digital technologies evolve rapidly, this skills gap deepens social isolation and limits their professional prospects. The project tackles this challenge by providing structured digital skills training to 24 visually impaired individuals, aiming to boost their confidence and improve their readiness for employment in a modern, technology-driven job market.

Participants from Estonia and Latvia will learn to use productivity tools, remote collaboration platforms, and cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning and printing. The learning process is designed in such a way that cross-border collaboration between participants provides experience in working as part of an international team.

Expected results

The project will deliver structured digital skills training to 24 visually impaired individuals from Estonia and Latvia. Of these, at least 20 are expected to successfully complete the full program and receive a certificate, demonstrating their improved digital competencies.

Through practical assignments and employer-led placements, participants will gain experience and build confidence in applying their skills in job market.
Through practical tasks and placements with potential employers, participants will gain real-world experience and build confidence in applying digital skills.
Cross-border collaboration will encourage teamwork, cultural exchange, and international communication.
