Companies offering services to visitors near the EU’s eastern border in Estonia, Latvia, and Finland face a common challenge: visitors—especially foreigners—often perceive these areas as unsafe. To attract guests, they must stand out and deliver memorable, high-value experiences.
This project supports new growth-oriented SMEs in mainly rural hospitality and creative sectors through an innovative Experience Economy programme.
By shifting from basic services to unforgettable experiences, these businesses can boost visitor appeal and increase revenue—because people pay more for what they truly remember.
The project aims for 60 new scaled-up, growth-oriented SMEs from the target area to show tangible improvements in their business operations. These companies are expected to make real changes by:
– Introducing new visitor experiences with higher economic value per customer, based on the Experience Economy model
– Expanding into new customer segments, such as foreign visitors or tour operators
– Implementing innovative branding and marketing strategies to reach new audiences more effectively
